Provides a safe, creative space for young people to meet, interact and make friends.

Develops drama and performance skills, and introduces skills in theatre design.
Links into the Secondary National Curriculum Framework in the areas of Communication and Language, Physical Development, Literacy, Understanding of the World Expressive Arts and Design.
Enhances young person’s Personal, Social and Emotional Development and encourages positive interaction and relationships.
For 15-17 year olds
Boost Up caters for young people who are interested in drama and theatre and want to collaborate with like-minded peers to explore and develop their creative skills and talents.
As well as building on various drama skills, the sessions will support and challenge participants to work together to establish themselves as a theatre company who demonstrate the confidence and techniques to explore and perform diverse styles of theatre, play texts and practitioners.
Participants will also have the opportunity to explore theatre design; including costume, set, props and lighting design. At the heart of the sessions remains inclusivity, and the aim to build confidence and promote collaboration.
The sessions are fun and dynamic, providing an important break from the pressures of exams and mainstream education. Participants may choose to share the skills they have learnt with parents and friends at the end of each term.

Requirements for the session:
Participant should wear comfortable clothing and footwear. It is advised that participants’ bring with them a bottle of water and a snack for the break.
